Give Paw Dog Training in Action in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn

Yesterday was the coincidentally named Give A Paw 2009 2nd Annual Adoption Event hosted and produced by City Pitties. It took place in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. Sponsors included the ASPCA, NYC Animal Care and Control, and The Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals. Sean Casey Animal Rescue, NYC ACC, and North Shore Animal League had dogs available. I hosted an Ask The Trainer booth where I fielded behavior questions and demonstrated how clicker training could produce fast and effective results with some of the pooches that were up for adoption.

I personally fell for a tiny little female pit named Rocky who was a bit timid, but sweet as pie. Alas, I could not take her because Lucy prefers to be the only dog in our family. I hope she is on her way to getting a good home.

Check out these photos of me at my station. Bob from the FIDO Organization had training questions regarding his therapy dog, Danali.
